Half Marathon

START 7:00 am

The Half Marathon will take you on a unique Tour of Town! Run from downtown Fort Collins to a corridor of nature that cuts through the city in a peaceful path along the Cache la Poudre River. Travel among historic neighborhoods, past a whitewater park, through the brewery district, and over and under bridges on a tree-lined course offering a choice of paved path or crushed gravel.

COURSE

The Half Marathon route follows the same route as the 10k, running west on Mountain Avenue to Grandview, then North on Taft Hill Road to the Poudre Bike Trail running along the River. Just after Lee Martinez Park (~mile 5.7), the Half Marathon continues on the Poudre Bike Trail going under College Avenue staying on the trail out just past Timberline Road. After going under Timberline Road, there will be a turnaround (~mile 9) and aid station and the race comes back on the trail just west of College Avenue. Here (~mile 12.4), you turn left heading South on the trail up to Mason Street running to Mountain Avenue, turn right on Mountain Avenue, right on Howes Street to the finish line at Civic Center Park. The Half Marathon route is run on a beautiful, scenic, mostly shady, and relatively flat course.

Time Limit
There is a time limit of 3 hours. This is an average pace of 13:44 per mile for the Half Marathon.

Due to course logistics, safety concerns, and course support, participants should plan on finishing no later than 10:00 am. Participants not reaching the finish area in this amount of time will be picked up by the sweep vehicle or choose to become a pedestrian following all traffic laws and finish the race (finish line and food tent will be open until every runner finishes).
